Founded in 1911 by eight families, the Samaja is the collective ainmane, the ancestral home, for the Kodava community in Bengaluru.

Each sub-committee runs an area of community life: welfare, education, sport, and culture.
The annual calendar holds the year together: festivals, sport, photographs, and the quarterly Pombolak.
